Hi! I’m Ellie Macdonald.

I’m an MSc Mindfulness student at the University of Aberdeen, practicing mindful photography while walking in the Scottish Borders.

Mindful Photography, in essence, is a blend of mindfulness and photography, fostering a unique approach to both seeing and capturing the world around us. It's about getting our heads out of the viewfinder and truly engaging with our surroundings.

Instead of chasing the 'perfect' shot, we invite you to savour each moment, each breath, each pixel of light. It's a meditative practice that encourages us to slow down, open our senses and tap into our creative spirit.

Through the lens of mindfulness, we connect with our environment and ourselves on a deeper level, turning simple clicks of the camera into acts of intention and presence. Whether you're a seasoned shutterbug or just starting out, I’m stoked to have you join me in this vibrant journey of exploration, connection, and artistic expression.

So grab your camera, put on your explorer's hat, and let's discover the extraordinary in the ordinary together!
